West Virginia Football Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Tue, 18 Nov 2008 22:33:03 PST-

While West Virginia Football and Louisville may be lacking in victories this season, they will not be lacking in incentive when the square off in Louisville this week.

The Mountaineers have to win to keep their BCS hopes alive—the winner of the Big East earns a BCS spot—and the Cardinals need to win pretty much to keep their bowl hopes alive, entering the game at 5-5 and with two consecutive losses, including one to lowly Syracuse.

This is not the way it was supposed to be, but then again things aren't the way they once were. Both coaches find themselves in similar situations, Bill Stewart trying to replace Rich Rodriguez, who built the Mountaineer program into a national power, and Steve Kragthorpe in his second season of trying to replace Bobby Petrino, who did...

2 WVU players suspended following arrests (AP)
Fri, 14 Nov 2008 03:36:45 PST-Two West Virginia Football football players facing battery charges have been indefinitely suspended from the team. Coach Bill Stewart announced Thursday night the suspensions of 21-year-old running back Maxwell Anderson and 21-year-old special teams holder Jeremy Kash. Stewart said in a news release that he had no further comment.

Cincinnati beats No. 20 WVirginia 26-23 in OT (AP)
Sat, 08 Nov 2008 21:01:35 PST-Enough talk about Tony Pike's surgically repaired left arm. His right one is working just fine and has Cincinnati in a first-place tie in the Big East. The still-mending Pike threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Kazeem Alli in overtime to lift the Bearcats to a 26-23 win over No. 20 West Virginia Football on Saturday night.

Bulger: "I know we haven't given up"
Thu, 20 Nov 2008 06:16:03 GMT-Rams quarterback Marc Bulger talked Wednesday on the team meeting Coach Haslett had today, on the Chicago Bears defense, on going with a no-huddle offense, on playing without Orlando Pace, on if the offense can find positive things from past games,

"If USF Offers, That's It."
Thu, 20 Nov 2008 01:46:16 GMT-Tony Straughter and the GMC Bulldogs are on a roll. With a record of 10-1, they are clearly playing at a high level, and Straughter is a big part of it. The playmaker is looking to finish strong and is eagerly anticipating the next stop on his football journey. The only problem is that he doesn't quite know where that might be...or does he?

Looking for Early Action
Wed, 19 Nov 2008 21:16:04 GMT-Despite growing up in a football-rich state like Florida, athlete Denard Robinson says he never followed any of the in-state schools as a kid. "I want to go where I can have a chance to play early," Robinson said. "I want to see some early action." Florida was the first school to offer Robinson and Gainesville is only four hours from his home. "It doesn't matter if I stay close..."

Starting Role
Wed, 19 Nov 2008 15:46:20 GMT-With the indefinite suspension of holder Jeremy Kash last Friday, Carmen Connolly will be making his first start as holder when West Virginia Football travels to the Bluegrass State to take on Louisville on Saturday.
